Two men were injured in a stabbing at a recreational park on Kaapbergweg in Beekbergen on Sunday night. One of them, a 32-year-old man from Beekbergen, died from his injuries on Monday afternoon. A 26-year-old man from Beekbergen has been arrested as a suspect.
On Sunday night around 2 a.m., an argument took place between several people in a house at a holiday park on Kaapbergweg. During the argument, a stabbing occurred in which two men were initially injured. One of them, a 32-year-old man from Beekbergen, was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he died on Monday afternoon.
Arrest
A 21-year-old man was also injured in the conflict, who was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel. The police arrested a 26-year-old man in the immediate area on suspicion of involvement in the stabbing incident. Like the victims, he comes from Beekbergen.
Third victim
During the course of Monday it became clear that there was a third victim on the premises. This 22-year-old man was also injured during the conflict on Sunday night and suffered a head wound. This third victim independently went to the hospital for medical treatment. He also lives in Beekbergen.
Research
The arrested suspect is being held at the police station for questioning. In addition, several witnesses were interviewed on site about the conflict, the assault and the stabbing incident. Specialists have conducted forensic research in and around the house where the violent incident took place. The investigation will continue in the coming days.
