Suspect arrested after shooting incident in Klazienaveen

Klazienaveen – The police arrested a suspect on Saturday evening after a shooting incident in Klazienaveen. The incident took place that same evening on Pastoor Jongeriusstraat, near a supermarket. No one was injured.

The police received a report on Saturday evening, March 16, around 7 p.m. that shots had been fired in Klazienaveen. Several units went to the scene and an investigation was immediately started.

In order to carefully investigate the location, a crime scene was set up and trace evidence was carried out. Witnesses were also spoken to. Based on an initial investigation, it appears that shots were actually fired, but it is still unclear what type of weapon was used. No one was injured.

A suspect was arrested shortly after the incident. It concerns an underage boy from Emmen. The boy is in custody and will be interrogated. The investigation must reveal exactly what happened and what the circumstances were. It seems very likely to be a long-standing conflict between people who know each other.
