Kaatsheuvel – After a short chase through Tilburg, Loon op Zand and Kaatsheuvel, a suspect was arrested on Sunday night, February 26, 2023. A firearm was found during a search of the vehicle.
Around 4 a.m., officers wanted to check a vehicle on the Dirigentenlaan in Tilburg because they threw things out of the car. They get a stop sign, but the driver decides to ignore the stop sign and drives off at high speed. After a chase by Loon op Zand, the driver loses control of the wheel on the Kinkenpolder in Kaatsheuvel. After the crash, the driver and passenger take off. An officer chases the suspect into the meadow towards the Dodenauweg, but eventually loses him.
Thanks to the police helicopter, agents on the ground were able to locate a 22-year-old suspect from Waalwijk. The suspect is arrested and taken to the station. A firearm was found during a search of the vehicle. Officers searched the pasture and surrounding area but found no second suspect.
