Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll both expect good results in Miami. They say this in a press release from Aston Martin. Alonso especially wants to return to the podium so that he can take more World Cup points. Stroll drew a comparison with his race in Miami last year, where he had to start from the pit lane. ‘This year I’m going for better results, but then some risks have to be taken.’

Aston Martin looks ahead to the Miami Grand Prix. After failing to secure a podium finish in Azerbaijan for the first time, the drivers seem keen to achieve better results. Alonso in particular thinks it is possible to finish on the podium again. “In Baku we were only off by a second,” he says.

Stroll: ‘We want to get as many points as possible’

The Spaniard is also looking forward to racing in Miami again. “It’s a great place for a race and I can’t wait to race in the United States again,” he told the Aston Martin website. “It’s a fast circuit, with lots of nice corners and long straights. We have done good things in Baku, we have to keep going. We will try again to beat our competitors and put on a nice show for the fans.’

Teammate Stroll can also enjoy the race in Miami. “It’s always nice to see how popular the sport has become in the United States and I love seeing the full stands,” says the Canadian. “I have a bit of mixed feelings about the race itself. Last year I had to start from the pit lane, so I definitely want to do better this year than last year. You have to take risks for that, but I like that! As always, we will give everything to collect as many points as possible.’
