Singer Lilian Day Jackson, known from the Dutch disco band Spargo, passed away yesterday at the age of 63. Her daughter Bemshi de Visser said this in a message on Facebook.
The American Jackson became known in the 1980s as the singer of Spargo. The song You and Me made it to number 1 in the Dutch hit list in 1980. The band scored five top-10 hits in the Dutch Top 40.

“It is with great sadness and pain that I have to say that my beautiful mother passed away yesterday on April 24. She left peacefully with her family around her,” writes her daughter under a photo in which she holds her mother’s hand.
Last month, De Visser reported on social media that her mother was terminally ill and she organized a collection for her funeral. It raised more than 12,500 euros.
