In Rotterdam, the well-known skyscraper De Rotterdam, a building in which hundreds of people live and work, was evacuated for some time after a bomb threat. About 1100 people had to leave the building.

The report came in to security around 1:45 p.m., who called the police. Almost two hours later it turned out to be a false bomb threat. Everyone was allowed back in.

The Rotterdam is located on the Wilhelminapier, not far from the Erasmus Bridge. The building by architect Rem Koolhaas consists of three linked skyscrapers, in which apartments, a hotel and municipal services are housed.

Only the middle tower was evacuated. It contains offices of the municipal services and a parking garage.

Police are investigating the source of the bomb threat.
