On Monday, six suspected collectors were arrested at a terminal on the Maasvlakte in the Rotterdam port area by a Customs unit. They are two men aged 24, three aged 26 and one aged 37. They come from Rotterdam and Vlaardingen. Customs thinks that the men wanted to get cocaine from a container and transport it off the site.
Three of the men had previously been caught on a dock site. The men have been handed over to the district detective in Rotterdam for the investigation.
Dozens of people have already been arrested this year in Rotterdam and Vlissingen for illegally entering port areas and presumably extracting cocaine.
Earlier this month, four and five men were arrested on a harbor site on suspicion of lashing out. On January 10 also five. Last weekend, the police fired shots at the arrest of suspected thieves in Vlissingen.
