Amsterdam – A shooting incident took place on Kruitbergstraat in Amsterdam-Zuidoost on Wednesday evening, April 3, 2024. After a conflict in a snack bar, a shot was fired outside. Shortly after the incident, officers managed to arrest five suspects in a home and confiscate a firearm.
The incident in the snack bar was reported to the police around 8:20 p.m. On site it turned out that a customer in the snack bar had gotten into a conflict with two other men. The men attacked the customer immediately upon entering and a fight broke out. At one point the men fled outside and there was a loud bang. One of the men fired a shot into a window of the snack bar and the two then fled.
The police immediately started an investigation and quickly discovered that the men had entered a house on Kikkenstein. The Arrest Team then entered this house and arrested five suspects inside. These suspects – all men between 16 and 18 years old from Amsterdam – are believed to be the shooter. A firearm was also found in the home during a search and was seized.
The role of all suspects and what exactly happened is being further investigated by the police. The victim was slightly injured by the fight in the snack bar, but fortunately no injuries were caused by the shooting.
