A 22-year-old man from Katwijk was seriously injured in a shooting on Talmastraat in Katwijk on Saturday night. He has been taken to hospital. A 24-year-old man from Katwijk has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the shooting incident.
Around 4.45 am, the victim was found seriously injured in front of a house on Talmastraat. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, after which the 22-year-old man was rushed to hospital. His condition is unclear.
The police immediately started an investigation and were able to arrest a 24-year-old man from Katwijk on the basis of a witness statement. His involvement in the shooting incident is still under investigation.

As a result of the shooting, a Large-scale Investigation Team (TGO) was started under the leadership of the public prosecutor. The police are looking for witnesses. Nothing is known about a motive.
