The Netherlands – Without cause, a 62-year-old man was seriously assaulted after the Four Days Marches celebrations in Nijmegen. The police are asking for information via Opsporing Verzoeken so that the perpetrators can be caught.
It is the night Friday 21 to Saturday 22 July. A 62-year-old Wijchenaar visited the bustle of the parties around the Nijmegen Four Days Marches and walks from the Bloemerstraat in the direction of the Waterkwartier. Two men may be following him at that moment.
He arrives at the Weurtseweg around 02:00. At the intersection with the Heselaan, the two unknown men suddenly attack him. A kick in the back causes him to fall, whereupon the two kick and punch him. Passers-by manage to get between them. After which the assailants run away.
In the hospital it appears how seriously injured the victim is: a broken collarbone, a bruised lower back, several broken ribs and a severe concussion.
