The police arrested a second suspect on Monday in the investigation into two explosions in Zoetermeer. It concerns a 15-year-old boy from The Hague. On Friday evening, a 17-year-old resident of De Lier reported this case.
During the night of Monday 16 to Tuesday 17 October, two explosions took place in Zoetermeer. The first explosion, around 11 p.m., was in Streefkerkstraat. The second took place around 11:25 PM in Ruivenstraat. No one was injured in these explosions, but there was damage to homes.

Images of the two suspects were shown in Omroep West’s Team West investigation program and via social media. Because the police assumed that the two boys were most likely minors, their faces were made unrecognizable. The public prosecutor gave them the opportunity to report to the police.
Stuck longer
The second suspect could be arrested after an extensive criminal investigation, the police reported on Tuesday. The previously arrested 17-year-old suspect was brought before the examining magistrate on Monday. He decided to extend his pre-trial detention.
The suspect arrested on Tuesday is in custody and will be heard.
