Maastricht – A second suspect has been arrested in the investigation into a violent attempt at street robbery. In the investigation, images of two suspects were distributed by means of a so-called SpeurMee video. The first suspect then reported to the police station at the end of January. The second suspect was arrested on Monday.
On the night of 28 to 29 April, two boys were waiting for a friend at a bicycle shed on the Kommel in Maastricht. Two people then approached and tried to violently rob one of the two of his phone. When the underage victim calls for help, the two run off empty-handed.
In mid-October, images of both suspects were distributed via a SpeurMee video onpolitie.nl and on the social media channels of the police. One of the suspects, an 18-year-old man from Maastricht, then reported to the police station at the end of January. This was subsequently arrested. Read more about that here.
