Heerhugowaard – The Seaport Police, in collaboration with the police in North Holland, arrested four people in a warehouse in Heerhugowaard on Saturday, March 22, 2024.

Shortly after the establishment of the Seaport Police in September 2023, the investigation team started an investigation led by the Public Prosecution Service in Breda into a group that was involved in importing cocaine through a fruit company in the port of Vlissingen. This follows an earlier seizure of 245 kilos of cocaine in October 2022 by customs in Vlissingen. This investigation showed that the people behind this seized consignment were still active.

Last Friday evening, the Seaport Police, in close cooperation with the North Holland police, arrested four people. The men, a 43 and 52-year-old resident from Amsterdam, a 45-year-old person from Costa Rica and a 39-year-old Colombian, were present in a warehouse in Heerhugowaard at the time. During the investigation in the warehouse, it turned out that they had just unpacked 120 kilos of cocaine from a batch of vegetables.

On Saturday morning, March 23, 2024, a 44-year-old resident from Germany was arrested in the area of ​​Zevenaar on the A12 who probably played a facilitating role in the import of the quantities of cocaine found. All suspects have been transferred to the cell complex and will be brought before the examining magistrate in the course of next week.
