Schiphol employees arrested for cocaine import

The CargoHarc team Schiphol – a partnership of Marechaussee, FIOD and Customs – has arrested two suspects in an ongoing investigation into the import of cocaine. The two, both working at Schiphol, were arrested at the airport after concrete information was received about their role in the import of cocaine from South America. The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee reports this on Thursday.

Shortly after their arrest, packages of cocaine were found in a locker at the airport with the help of a Customs sniffer dog. The amount of cocaine involved has not been reported.

The two are detained for further investigation, for which they will be held for at least another ninety days. Multiple arrests are not ruled out.
