The scheme for entrepreneurs in Limburg who have suffered a loss of turnover due to the 2021 floods will be reopened. According to the province of Limburg, of the 24 million euros that had been made available, only five million have been used.

Entrepreneurs in the flood area who suffered at least a 50 percent loss of turnover are eligible for the scheme. A maximum of 30 percent of the loss will be reimbursed.

A total of 115 applications have been received so far, for a total amount of 6.4 million euros. €4.9 million has now been awarded.

Not up to date

Not all entrepreneurs who may be eligible for compensation have submitted an application. The province suspects that they may not have been aware of the arrangement. The scheme will therefore reopen at the end of September, 1Limburg reports. Entrepreneurs who have not yet applied for support can still do so.

Of the available 24 million, 3 million was reserved for implementation costs, among other things. There is now a net amount of 16 million euros left for entrepreneurs. According to 1Limburg, this scheme is separate from the scheme for damage suffered, for example if a building became unusable after the flood.
