Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted to his abrupt departure from Manchester United in a press conference with Portugal. The Portuguese superstar is happy to be with Al-Nassr and has learned from his time at the club, where he was sacked on November 22.
“When you’re on top of that mountain, you can’t see what lives underneath,” Ronaldo says cryptically about his departure from United. “I now know better what is important and what is not, because I have never gone through a period like the last few months in my entire career. This has really made me a better person.”
In November, Manchester United decided to terminate Ronaldo’s contract after several clashes with the Portuguese. Ronaldo admits his last time at Manchester United has been nothing to write home about. “Sometimes you have to go through times like this to see who is really with you and who isn’t. I have no problem admitting that this was a bad time. But life goes on, this was part of my growth process.”
