On the night of November 6 to 7 in 2021, Mark Gillis was brutally attacked at his chalet at the Prinsenmeer holiday park. The pre-trial detention of one of the suspects in that robbery, a 53-year-old from Tilburg, has been lifted. A spokesman for the East Brabant court, where a pro forma hearing was held on Wednesday, informed the ANP when asked: “He was arrested on the basis of a DNA match on the shirt of the victim, in this case Mark Gillis. . That seems to be the only evidence against the suspect at the moment and the court finds that too meager for now to extend his pre-trial detention.”
Earlier, a 22-year-old suspect from Den Bosch was also released. Two other suspects, a 40-year-old man from Den Bosch and a 42-year-old suspect from Rosmalen, remain in custody. The substantive hearing of the case is on August 28.
