Max Verstappen was the fastest in the sprint race for the São Paulo Grand Prix. The Dutchman took the lead at the start at the expense of Lando Norris, who eventually crossed the line in second. Sergio Pérez also struggled when the lights went out, losing two places but fighting back strongly. It will be good for the Mexican to be on the podium again. The Mercedes and Ferrari drivers had a difficult time and finished more than 25 seconds behind. Lewis Hamilton in particular suffered from tire wear on his W14.
