Resident catches intruder

Vlissingen – The police arrested a 34-year-old man suspected of sneaking in and making threats in an anti-squat house on Prins Hendrikweg on Sunday, February 4, 2024, around 11:20 PM. The intruder was caught by one of the residents when they returned home. The intruder threatened that resident with a steel tire lever. The intruder was locked in a room by that resident while waiting for the police.

The resident has filed a report. He said that when he returned home around 11 p.m., he saw that the sliding door was open and that a light was on. He then saw a man standing upstairs in his room putting on his clothes. He shouted to the man what he had to do there. The intruder then grabbed a steel tire lever and waved it menacingly and wildly. The resident was able to avoid this and quickly closed the door after which he alerted the police. Officers then arrested the intruder. The suspect has been detained.
