PSV asks for patience for new trainer: 'This is a major decision'

Marcel Brands wants to take the time to appoint a new trainer for PSV. The general manager knows that the decision in Eindhoven is urgent, but also does not want to get ahead of things.

After the sudden departure of Ruud van Nistelrooij, PSV is busy appointing a new head coach and the name of Peter Bosz is clearly singing around in the corridors. In all cases it seems that the trainer is heading for Eindhoven, but Brands is cautious. “Of course we would rather have appointed the right man today than tomorrow. But this is such an extremely important decision. We have to operate carefully and coordinate things well. If I have to estimate it now, it may be quite a while before we appoint someone,” says the driver, as reported by the Eindhovens Dagblad.

Brands understands that the supporters want to see quick results. “It’s just a major decision for PSV, where you have to talk about many things. I understand that our supporters want clarity quickly and can become a bit impatient. That shows their involvement. Everyone wants progress to be visible, but “We have to take the time for this process. It would be nice if we could finalize an appointment in the short term, but it didn’t look like that yet on Wednesday morning.”
