Professional cannabis farm discovered in business premises

Soest – Thanks to an anonymous tip, the police rolled up a professional cannabis farm in a business premises on the Industrieweg in Soest on Tuesday, April 9.

Professional hemp farm

The police received an anonymous tip about a suspicious odor around the business premises on Industrieweg. The police then took action and decided to inspect the building, together with the municipality. A professional cannabis nursery was subsequently found in one room of the company. The plantation contained, according to an initial estimate, approximately 1,000 plants and approximately 2,000 cuttings. The police also found various equipment and other goods that indicate a professional nursery. The cannabis nursery is dismantled and all plants and items found are destroyed.

Risks of electricity theft

The electricity for the nursery was taken illegally. The energy supplier reports the theft of electricity and has disconnected the power from the business premises. Power theft is often the case at cannabis farms and this entails considerable risks for local residents. For example, a short circuit or overheating can cause a fire. It is therefore important that you report suspicions of a cannabis farm.

Research

The police are further investigating the nursery. No one has been arrested yet. The municipality is investigating which administrative measures it will impose.
