Princess Alexia will be present at Prinsjesdag for the first time this year, the Government Information Service reports. On September 19, she will accompany her to the Koninklijke Schouwburg, where the Speech from the Throne will be read. After the return journey to Noordeinde Palace, she will most likely also stand on the balcony to wave.

The princess turned 18 on June 26. The fact that she is of age is the reason why the princess is now present at an official occasion such as Prinsjesdag. Last year, her sister Amalia was 18 years old and she was also present at Prinsjesdag for the first time.

Alexia will ride in the Gala glass saloon. This carriage leaves just before the Glass Coach from Noordeinde Palace to the theatre. This also includes Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien.

Alexia therefore does not ride in the Glass Coach with King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and Crown Princess Amalia. “This is intended for the Head of State, or the future Head of State,” reports the Government Information Service.

First working visit

Last week it was announced that Alexia will have her first official working visit on September 9th. She then baptizes a ship in Rotterdam that bears her name: the Vox Alexia. She also gets a tour and speaks with the ship’s crew.

Alexia completed her education at the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales early this summer. During a semi-annual photo session, she said that she will take a gap year next year before she starts studying. “It will be a bit of travel, work and everything. A lot of planning, but nothing planned yet,” she said at the time.

She was last seen in public with her family at the end of August. Then she visited the Grand Prix of the Netherlands in Zandvoort:
