Prices Lucid Air Pure AWD and Touring known

Lucid is one of the relatively new car brands that focuses entirely on the production and sale of electric cars. The brand, especially as a newcomer, has suffered quite a lot from the pandemic, chip shortages and other macroeconomic challenges. Lucid has some good news today, especially for Dutch EV drivers. The manufacturer has revealed the sales prices of two new models. The four-wheel drive Lucid Air Pure (AWD) and the Air Touring. These will not be EVs for the general public, because both models have a price tag that well exceeds 100,000 euros.

Available in the course of the second half of 2023

The two new models in the Lucid Air line-up will hit showrooms in the second half of this year. The Lucid Air Touring will have a starting price tag of 134,000 euros (including VAT) and deliveries are expected to start in the third quarter of 2023.

The slightly cheaper Lucid Air Pure AWD will be available from the fourth quarter, from 115,000 euros (including VAT). In 2024, a (cheaper) version of this model will also appear with only rear-wheel drive. Lucid has not yet mentioned a price tag for that.

725 kilometers on one battery

With EVs, the capacity of the battery, and therefore the estimated range, is one of the most important specifications. Both new Lucid Air models are equipped with a 92kWh ‘Long Range Battery Pack’, good for a WLTP range of more than 725 kilometers. Even if that range is 10 to 20 percent lower in practice – which is quite normal, especially in cold weather conditions and when you drive a lot of motorway kilometers – you still have an EV that should be able to reach 600 kilometers with one battery charge. Charging is possible with a maximum of 250 kW.

The Air Pure has the same unique design and many of the key features of the Air lineup but at a more affordable price. It will be introduced with twin motors and all-wheel drive (AWD) delivering 480 horsepower. The twin-motor, four-wheel-drive powertrain in the Lucid Air Touring produces 620 horsepower. This allows this car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.

More comfort in the rear

Partly because the battery packs of the new Lucid’s have become lighter and more compact, the floor behind the driver could be lowered by 8 centimetres. This provides more seating comfort for the rear passengers. Optionally, both new Lucid’s can also be equipped with the Dream Drive Pro Advanced Driver Assistance system.

With the arrival of the Air Pure, a new color variant is also introduced in the Lucid family: Fanthom Blue. A color that, according to the manufacturer, is inspired by the Pacific Ocean; deep blue. The Air Touring is available with an aluminum roof as standard or with an optional Glass Canopy, an all-glass roof.
