Police make three arrests after assault Zaandam

Zaandam – The police made three arrests around 4 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, after a report of an incident on the Kaasjeskruidweg in Zaandam. A 39-year-old man from Zaandam was assaulted and robbed of his belongings. The arrested suspects are a 52-year-old man without a fixed place of residence or residence and two men aged 33 and 28 from Zaandam. Their role in the incident is under investigation.

When the victim was walking on Fluitekruidweg around 1:45 a.m., he passed a white van with three people in it. The man wanted to talk to these people about a collision he had previously had with the bus. Immediately the three persons from the van came to the victim. The man then ran away over the Fluitekruidweg in the direction of the Kaasjeskruidweg. Here he was mistreated by the three men. During the assault, a fourth person came and also started kicking and hitting the victim. The man was eventually also robbed of his belongings. The victim was briefly unconscious from the assault and was later taken to hospital.

Immediately after the report, the police carried out a search and were able to arrest the suspects around 04:00. The suspects have been taken to the station and their role in the incident is being investigated. The fourth person has not been found. The victim’s personal belongings were later found in the bushes with the help of a police dog.
