Police make quick arrests after street robbery in Hoorn

Hoorn – The police made three arrests on Wednesday afternoon, February 22, after a report of a street robbery at the Stationsplein in Hoorn. A 19-year-old man from the municipality of Stede Broec was robbed of his property. The arrested suspects are a 24-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man from Hoorn. Their role in the street robbery is under investigation.

When the victim was sitting on a bench in the park near Stationsplein around 4:55 p.m., four people passed the man. One of these persons walked towards the boy and started to intimidate the victim. Two other people from the group joined the incident. They then asked the victim to hand over his personal belongings. When he refused, a struggle ensued. The man’s property was stolen. The victim fled and then called the police.

After a search, the suspects were arrested around 5:35 p.m. at Claes Molenaersgang and Kleine Noord. The suspects have been taken to the police station and their role in the street robbery is being investigated. The other person from the group has not been arrested, as this person is not involved in the incident.
