Police make arrests after store robbery

Stavoren – On Tuesday evening, November 14, a robbery took place at a shop on De Bleeck. Officers arrested a 21-year-old man from Assen and an 18-year-old man from the municipality of Sûdwest-Fryslân at the station in Stavoren at around 6:45 p.m. The men were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the robbery.

Around 6:30 PM, a report came in that a person with a knife had stolen an amount of money from a supermarket. Because a clear description was given, two men were stopped shortly afterwards on Stationsstraat. One of them matched the robber’s description. He was arrested. The second man insulted the officers. He was also arrested. Both men are still in custody and are being interrogated.

The investigation into what exactly happened is still ongoing. Supermarket employees and local residents were interviewed and camera images were requested.
