Police investigate burglary jeweler Gennep

Gennep – In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, March 15, a jewelry store on Zandstraat in Gennep was broken into. Jewelry was stolen during the burglary. The damage to the property is significant. No one was injured.

Police received a burglary report around 4:30 a.m. Officers immediately launched an investigation. Three people in black clothing entered by forcing the roller shutter at the front of the building. The three suspects fled with the loot in a light gray Audi station wagon with false Dutch license plates. The investigation has not yet led to the tracing of the suspects or the used passenger car. On Wednesday morning, a neighborhood investigation was carried out in the vicinity of the case.

Chain lock

That same morning around 5:00 am, officers found a chain around the gate of the police station in Gennep. The fire brigade has been called in to release the chain. This had no influence on the deployment after the burglary report at the jeweller’s. The patrols that were on duty were already in the area at that time. The police are investigating whether this action has to do with the burglary earlier that night.
