Leersum – The police arrested a suspect this week of the violent robbery of a jeweler on December 8 last year in Leersum. It concerns a 32-year-old man from Ede, known to the police. Multiple arrests are not ruled out.
The jeweler was in his shop on the Rijksstraat in Leersum on Thursday night, December 8, 2022. Suddenly she was surprised by three people. They were disguised with what appear to be raincoats and balaclavas.
The victim was forcibly detained, so that the perpetrators managed to make off with an as yet unknown loot. They are believed to have fled in a car.
The victim managed to contact emergency services herself. The police immediately launched a search for the possible perpetrators.
One suspect was arrested this week. The police are still looking for the other two suspects and hope to arrest them soon.
Police are still looking for witnesses. Did you perhaps see or hear anything in the vicinity of the Rijksstraat shortly before or after the robbery that may have something to do with this?
