In his hometown of Bedzin, on New Year’s Eve 2005, he hit a man and a woman in their home several times on the head with a punch and a sharp-edged object. The two subsequently died as a result of the attack.
Two days after his act, he also set fire to the couple’s apartment, after which he fled.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2019, which was declared irrevocable in 2021. The Polish authorities informed the Dutch police that he was hiding here under a false identity. He may have worked in construction.

The ENFAST network is the European network of specialized police teams dedicated to the detection of fugitives. These teams provide each other with assistance. FAST Poland sought cooperation with FAST NL in October 2021.
However, at that time the information turned out to be insufficient to find the right track, according to the police.
In November 2023, the Pole appeared on Europol’s most wanted website. Subsequently, new clues from Poland and the Netherlands came to the investigation.
