Nistelrode – A family with children was only able to escape the fire in November 2020 that ultimately destroyed their home at Loosven. Last Tuesday, April 2, the police arrested a man who we suspect was responsible for the fire.
That night around 4:15 am, the residents had to flee their home in haste because it turned out to be on fire. One of them had to be transported to a hospital with breathing problems. The fire was caused by spread fire from two burning cars parked next to the caravan. Because it was determined that arson had occurred, the police started an investigation. This initially did not lead to the arrest of a suspect.
New information
The police recently came into possession of new information, which helped to speed up the investigation. It led to a concrete suspicion of arson against a 36-year-old resident of Veldhoven. Based on this suspicion, he was arrested on Tuesday on behalf of the public prosecutor. He is in custody and will be brought before the examining magistrate on Friday.
