On Monday evening, February 12, the police received a report of a shooting incident at Purmerend train station around 8:05 p.m. A 19-year-old man from Purmerend died. Another man, a 19-year-old man from the municipality of Medemblik, was seriously injured.

A day later on Tuesday, February 13, a 16-year-old boy from Purmerend was arrested in connection with the shooting incident. He’s still stuck.
On Wednesday, February 14, the police managed to make two more arrests. The 18-year-old man from Amsterdam is still in custody. The 16-year-old boy from Purmerend has been sent away. He still remains a suspect in the investigation.
The 15-year-old boy from Amsterdam, who was arrested on Wednesday, February 21, is also still in custody. On March 4, a 19-year-old man from Landsmeer was arrested. He is also still in custody.
