Emmen – The police are investigating an incident in which a man is threatened in his own home by two suspects. This took place on Thursday evening May 14 around 10.30 pm. The suspects managed to escape. The police would like to get in touch with witnesses who may have something to say about the escape route of the suspects.

Last night, around 10:30 p.m., the police received a report of a suspicious situation on the Hoofdstraat in Emmen.

Intimidation and threat to resident
The resident has an appointment with a man who he lets into his home around 9 p.m. It concerns a white man of 30 to 35 years old who speaks with a Belgian accent. He also had a beard. After some time, about an hour, the man leaves the house to grab something from his car. Then he comes back shortly after along with another man. They intimidate and threaten the resident, who manages to fend off. The men flee via the fire escape of the apartment building and the resident immediately calls the police.

Suspects escape
It is still unclear what the intentions of the men were. It is also not clear how and in which direction they fled. Still, we hope that there are people who saw these men run away. That Belgian accent in particular can be a striking feature, perhaps someone has noticed. In addition, we know that the same suspect is a white man of 30 to 35 years old who has a ring beard.
