Police and municipality intervene in planned illegal scooter meeting

Steenbergen/ Dinteloord/ Etten-Leur/ Zevenbergsche Hoek – The municipality and police intervened on Saturday afternoon, March 11, at a planned illegal scooter meeting at an industrial estate in Dinteloord. 5 vehicles were seized and 20 fines issued.

The police had signals that scooter riders would be racing on the industrial estate. Together with the municipality it was decided that action would be taken because such an illegal race can cause dangerous situations and nuisance. At the beginning of the afternoon a number of people had already come to the meeting, they were sent away by the police. Scooter riders, people on dirt bikes and quads were checked in the area. The participants chose eggs for their money. When officers received signals that an attempt was being made to have a meeting take place in Roosendaal, Zevenbergschen Hoek and Etten-Leur, they also intervened there again. A total of 5 vehicles were seized because they were not allowed to drive on the road and a total of 20 fines were issued.
