Two young parents from Amsterdam, whose baby was found in a dumpster in 2021, are suspected of murdering another child. The Public Prosecution Service confirms this after reporting by Het Parool.

In 2021, a baby was found in a garbage container in Amsterdam Southeast. The two parents are already suspected of attempted murder in this case. Now there is a suspicion of murder of another baby. The two were minors at the time of both incidents.
‘Wrong decision’
The discovery of the newborn child two years ago sparked a national wave of outrage. The parents were both 17 years old at the time. The father’s lawyer then stated that the parents thought their child had already died. “In that panic, fear and stress, the wrong decision was made,” said the lawyer at TV program Op1.
Local residents had heard howling from the container in Meernhof street. The baby, who was wrapped in a Jumbo shopping bag, was freed by police and firefighters. The baby was taken to hospital in hypothermia. It is unclear how the child is doing now.
Het Parool writes that the parents’ two lawyers do not want to comment on the new murder charge. Their criminal case is scheduled for mid-September, according to the OM.
