Ditch

On March 12, 2021, a passerby found a body in a ditch on Nico Broekhuysenweg in Amsterdam-Geuzenveld. Police investigation revealed that it was 22-year-old Lauranio “Lau” Bronne from Assendelft, who had died as a result of a crime. He turned out to have been shot somewhere else.

The police arrested three suspects in the investigation on suspicion of involvement in the death of the victim: the 29-year-old main suspect Hamid D. without a permanent residence or residence, the 21-year-old Jahmal N. from Krommenie and the 22-year-old Justin. D. from Assendelft.

Hamid D. is suspected of having shot the victim in the head in Assendelft. The other two men are suspected of helping to dispose of the body.

‘Accident’

According to the Public Prosecution Service, there was a conflict between Hamid D. and Lauranio Bronne, the two of whom were sitting in the cabin of the van of one of the co-defendants to discuss the argument. The co-defendants were standing next to the van when they heard a bang. When it turned out that the victim had been shot through the mouth by Hamid D., who himself stated that it was an accident.

Bus on fire

The trio then dumped Bronne’s body in a ditch in Amsterdam-Geuzenveld and then fled to Antwerp, where they tried to rid their clothes and the van of the victim’s blood. Bronne’s passport was burned in the Antwerp hotel room. Because it was not possible to clean the van properly, they set it on fire back in Amsterdam.

Statement aligned

The prosecutor does not believe it was an accident and says that Hamid D. knew the weapon was loaded. Moreover, D. only made a substantive statement well after the final file was complete. As a result, according to the Public Prosecution Service, he had extensive time to align his statement with the file and with the statements of the co-defendants.

The Public Prosecution Service demands 10 years in prison and TBS with compulsory treatment against main suspect Hamid D. The Public Prosecution Service demands 18 months in prison against both co-defendants.
