Noise nuisance report leads to arrest with a lot of resistance

Roosendaal – The police arrested the 40-year-old resident with great resistance in a house on Burgemeester Freijterslaan on Thursday, March 14, 2024, around 10:20 PM, after he threatened officers. The officers had gone to the scene because of a report of noise pollution. After ringing the doorbell, the suspect shouted at them to leave or he would shoot them dead. After his arrest, he was taken to hospital by ambulance due to an injury.

Officers were instructed by the Control Room on Thursday evening to go to a complex on Burgemeester Freijterslaan due to noise pollution. The officers heard loud music with deep bass tones coming from one of the apartments. They rang the doorbell to speak to the resident about this. However, he did not open the door but shouted loudly from behind the front door: “If you don’t leave, I will put a bullet in your head.” The police officers then asked for assistance from colleagues wearing heavy police vests. The front door was then forced open and the house entered. The suspect resisted violently. An electroshock weapon was used during the arrest. Ultimately he was overpowered. He was then taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment due to a head injury.
