No drug discovery for police in gym raid

The police raided three buildings and a real estate company in Almelo on Wednesday evening. After a tip about hard drugs, the police found nothing.

Smashed

The action started at a gym in Vroomshoop. There, the glass front door of the former Sportstudio Twente was smashed in, after which the police searched the vacant multi-company building. This is reported by the newspaper Tubantia on Thursday afternoon.

Nothing

Police say she received information that led her to look for a large amount of hard drugs. The search turned up nothing. No arrests were made in the operation either.

There was also a raid on a real estate entrepreneur whom the police had suspected in the past of facilitating the production of hemp and synthetic drugs. For privacy reasons, the police cannot say whether he is a suspect.

Convicted

In a raid in 2020 at the gym in Vroomshoop, several suspects were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the production of crystal meth. They were sentenced to years in prison in March this year. Gym owner Harry A. was sentenced to 36 months in prison.
