Tottenham Hotspur has made the decision: Spurs will do everything in the coming weeks to appoint Julian Nagelsmann as the new manager. It means that interest in Feyenoord coach Arne Slot has decreased.
Spurs is at a loss. After the departure of Antonio Conte in March, Cristian Stellini was appointed as interim, but the latter was fired again after a handful of matches due to disappointing results. Ryan Mason finishes the season. In the meantime, the Tottenham club management, together with owner Daniel Levy, will do everything they can to capture Nagelsmann, reports the German branch of Sky Sports.
It is not yet certain that the German will work in North London. It is reported that Nagelsmann is not yet convinced by Spurs, partly due to the lack of a technical director. In addition, the 35-year-old coach wants clarity about the possibilities on the transfer market next summer. It is expected that an agreement will take some time to come, it sounds.
If Nagelsmann starts working at Spurs, Slot has one less option. The Feyenoord trainer does not have to complain about interest. Several Premier League clubs are reportedly hunting for his signature.
