The police arrested a 35-year-old man from The Hague and a 56-year-old man from Rotterdam on Monday morning on suspicion of involvement in the fatal assault of a 71-year-old man in Rotterdam at the end of September. It is the third arrest in the investigation.
Assaulted and stabbed
The assault took place on Wednesday evening, September 27, around 8:45 PM on the Molièreweg in Rotterdam. The 71-year-old victim died from injuries sustained during the assault by several people. He was also stabbed. His dog was also injured. That same evening, the police arrested a 53-year-old man from Rotterdam, he is still in custody.
Investigation programs
The case has recently received extensive attention in TV programs Bureau Rijnmond and Opsporing Verzocht. A large-scale investigation team, led by the Public Prosecution Service, also conducted extensive investigation into the case. This ultimately led to the police arresting a 35-year-old man from The Hague and a 56-year-old man from Rotterdam early on Monday morning.
They are both in custody and are suspected of involvement in the fatal assault of the 71-year-old man.
