Healthcare institutions, suppliers and patient organizations have recently been able to use the Future Proof platform for information about more sustainable and healthier food in healthcare. The platform enables healthcare parties to measure how they score in the field of health and sustainability and offers training to implement improvements.
Green Deal 3.0
The online platform FutureProef was launched on 15 February. Future Proef is an initiative of Stichting Eten+Welzijn and has been developed with the support of, among others, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS), MVO Nederland, Milieu Platform Zorg, Intrakoop and a large number of frontrunners in the healthcare sector. The platform offers concrete tools for sustainability. Thanks to the Future Proof platform, the sector will soon be able to meet the climate objectives agreed in the Green Deal 3.0, according to the initiators.
Future Proof approach
FutureProof focuses on:
- Those responsible for sustainability or nutrition policy in healthcare organizations
- Buyers, facility managers, dieticians and kitchen chefs in healthcare organizations
- Management and administrators of healthcare organizations
- Public and private organizations from the food or healthcare chain
- Patient organizations
Zero measurement
ToekomstProef will carry out a (baseline) measurement among participants in 5 action areas (Purchasing, Production and Residual Flows, Business Operations, Selection of the Range and Participation). In this way, participants gain insight into the level of sustainability they are at. With additional training, participants can then set to work to implement concrete improvements. They can also come into contact with other participants. In this way, healthcare parties will jointly ensure that progress can be made in making healthcare more sustainable. A special kick-off information meeting will be organized for this on 23 March 2023.
