Every year there is a Netflix series that goes down as ‘the most expensive ever’ and that now also applies to 3 Body Problem. We have One Piece at $18 million per episode and of course The Sandman where each episode cost Netflix $15 million. The Crown at 13 million dollars per episode and the brilliant The Get Down at 11 million dollars have also not been cheap series for the streaming service. However, now there is a new most expensive series ever and it will be available on Netflix very soon. Each episode would cost $20 million.
3 Body Problem on Netflix
3 Body Problem was also made by not the least: the men behind Game of Thrones are at the helm (David Benioff and DB Weiss). Although these are now condemned by the last season of the series, fortunately 3 Body Problem is eagerly awaited. The series consists of eight episodes and is based on books by Liu Cixin, a Chinese science fiction author. This portrays a past, present and future in which the world gets to know extraterrestrial life. However, it all takes place in the context of a student who sees her father beaten to death and then joins the army. However, she discovers that there is a search for extraterrestrial life and that interests her very much, so she helps to set up communication.
We do wonder whether it is true that this is the most expensive: there seem to be Stranger Things episodes for 30 million dollars each, but who knows, the average will be something else. In any case, from March 21 we can see whether all that money was worth it for Netflix: then 3 Body Problem will appear on the streaming service.
