Netflix finally shocks again with a crazy docu-series

There were times when the topic of conversation at the water cooler at work defaulted to some crazy Netflix docu-series. It took a while, but with Waco: American Apocalypse, the streaming service finally has another such gem in its hands.

In Wild Wild Country you were sucked into the bizarre world of Bhagwan Sri Rajneesh and his followers. You undoubtedly also know the absurd and sad story of Tiger King. In Don’t F*uck With Cats you watched a psychopathic cat killer with your mouth open. Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator was about a sick guru. It all started with Making a Murderer. And in between there was still a lot of crazy content, such as the documentary about psychopath Jeffrey Dahmer, although it was mainly the played series about the psychopath in question that preceded it.

Waco: American Apocalypse on Netflix

Anyway, fans of the ‘crazed documentary’ genre are now well catered for with Waco: American Apocalypse. The Netflix Original chronicles the largest gunfight on American soil since the Civil War, which ended in a fiery explosion captured live on national television. Then we are talking about 1993.

The mastermind behind the gunfight was failed rock guitarist David Koresh, born Vernon Wayne Howell, who, after going through a number of cults, founded his own sect Davidians. Waco: American Apocalypse focuses on the raid that led to the bizarre gunfight, as well as the weeks-long negotiation with the FBI, during which Koresh spoke in inimitable biblical language and set absurd terms. On the other hand, the FBI’s controversial tactics led to an apocalyptic scene.

Crazy docu-series with people involved

With a little bit of historical awareness, you already knew the story about the largest gunfight on American soil since the Civil War. Now it has finally been cast by Netflix in a docu-series, in which those involved from all camps have their say. If you thought you’d already gotten an insane glimpse into a cult with Wild Wild Country, brace yourself for Waco: American Apocalypse.

Waco: American Apocalypse has a 90 percent rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.7 out of 10 rating on IMDb. The docu-series is now streaming on Netflix.
