The sentence consists of 25 years in prison for the murder of the rapper, 25 years in prison because a firearm was involved and another 10 years for wounding two others during the murder attempt.

Ermias Asghedom, as Nipsey Hussle is really called, was shot dead in front of his clothing store in Los Angeles on March 31, 2019. Previously, Holder had an altercation with Asghedom, who was signing autographs outside his clothing store. Holder returned with a weapon and opened fire.

Two days after the assassination attempt, Holder was arrested by the police. The woman who had transported him in a getaway car had turned herself in to police and identified the shooter. His face had also been captured on security cameras and recognized by several witnesses.
