Motorola introduces the successor to their most stylish smartphone yet: say ‘Hello’ to the Motorola Edge 40 Neo. The phone is available in three beautiful colors: Black Beauty, Mint Green and Caneel Bay, which were created in collaboration with Pantone. The latter variant stands out because of its cover made of vegan leather, an environmentally friendly choice for fashion-conscious users.
Design of the Edge 40 Neo
Motorola is once again working with Pantone this year, the institute that determines color gradations. This collaboration ensures that the Edge 40 Neo is not only high-tech, but especially offers that little bit more in terms of design. For the high-end experience, Motorola has also thought about the scent: the phone box is provided with a hint of perfume, making opening the box a real experience.
The first thing you notice about this phone is the pure colors on the back. At the front you will find a curved 6.55-inch pOLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution. The 144Hz refresh rate also makes it an interesting phone for gamers.
Motorola mainly praises the Edge 40 Neo for its waterproofness. Thanks to the IP68 certification, the smartphone can remain under (fresh) water for up to 30 minutes, up to a depth of 1.5 meters. We just don’t know what that does to the back of vegan leather…
Battery
The Motorola Edge 40 Neo has a 5000 mAh battery, which can be charged very quickly with the 68W charger. The battery charges up to 50% in just 15 minutes, meaning you can spend less time charging and more time with your phone.
And the camera?
In terms of photography, the Edge 40 Neo offers a 50 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and Instant Focus should ensure sharp and vivid photos, even in low light. The 13MP ultrawide wide-angle lens can also be used as a macro and depth sensor, for all kinds of creative photography perspectives. The Night Vision option is very useful at night: it allows you to take photos when it is really dark. You’ll see what’s really supposed to be in the picture, instead of a dark, blurry picture. Calculating what the Neo does is up to 16x faster than its predecessor.
Video enthusiasts will also love the Edge 40 Neo’s new features. Horizon Lock allows you to take stable videos even during action shots, while the portrait shot in video mode allows a nice blurring of the background.
Price and availability
The Motorola Edge 40 Neo is now available for a price of 399.99 euros. You can buy it at Bol.com, among others.
