Missing Kees Achterberg

Veenendaal – 56-year-old Kees Achterberg has been missing since Wednesday, December 20 last year. We have additional information and hope it may help you. Share your information with the police as soon as possible. No matter how small it seems to you.

Soon after Kees was reported missing, he was classified as an urgent missing person. This has to do with the medication that is important for Kees, because of his progressive form of epilepsy. Kees was last seen on Tuesday, December 19 between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM at his home address on Ghandistraat in Veenendaal. Kees then reported to his supervisor. He needed this guidance because of his medical health. The next morning on December 20, Kees had an appointment in the morning. However, he did not appear here.

Kees often used the same routes within Veenendaal that were familiar to him. As a result, he knew the city like the back of his hand; he actually always went out well prepared. He was last seen in the center of Veenendaal on December 19, 2023 at around 12:00 noon. He was captured on CCTV footage which can be seen below.

Bicycle
Kees’ bicycle, as shown in the image below, is an anthracite/gray bicycle from the Batavus brand. The bike was also equipped with a single pannier, as shown in the picture below.

Photos by Kees
Kees would never leave without informing his supervisor. He did not travel alone or use public transport and Kees did not often visit the water. Because Veenendaal was a familiar place for him, he did not often go further than outside Veenendaal.

“He could often be found in his home in the evenings. Kees mainly went out with his bicycle.

We hope to use this information to reach people who (possibly) know more about where Kees could be. Please take a closer look at his photos. The photo with the striped shirt is the most representative of what Kees would have looked like when he was reported missing.
