Two arrests were made on Tuesday in the investigation into a series of explosions and other violent incidents in Groningen, Oude Pekela and Winschoten. The suspects are a 16-year-old boy from Zaandam and an 18-year-old man from Amsterdam. They were arrested in Amsterdam, the police said.
The two suspects are in custody and will be interrogated about their possible involvement. They are both under restrictions and this means that the police and the Public Prosecution Service cannot comment on the content of their case at this time.
The investigation continues and more arrests may follow.
Eight arrests have previously been made in connection with explosions in Herestraat in Groningen and Langestraat in Winschoten. There were young men from Tilburg.
The police shared images of explosions in Feiko Clockstraat in Oude Pekela and Wezellaan in Winschoten on Monday. It shows two suspicious people.
