Minister Dennis Wiersma will discuss his behavior with former managers. He wants to know if he has also been “too sharp and sometimes too fierce” in previous positions. Wiersma was, among other things, State Secretary for Social Affairs and Employment and a Member of Parliament for the VVD.
Yesterday it came out that Wiersma “regularly went crazy” at the Ministry of Education and that he could ignite in rage. A number of officials would have resigned for that reason.
‘Going a lot better’
Wiersma writes on Instagram today that he already started working on this last year and that things are going a lot better now. “At least, that’s what I hear from the people around me.”
He also says that “the signals” from his first period as minister are therefore known to him. “But perhaps there are also earlier signals, from longer ago, that have escaped me or that I have closed myself off to.”
He now wants to give his managers in previous positions the opportunity to discuss this with him. “Because I want nothing more than to learn lessons from that period.”
