The premises of the car rental company on Neuronstraat in Groningen will be closed on Thursday. The building will remain closed for six months. This was decided by the mayor of that city. A spokesperson: ‘Information from the police has shown that criminal activities are facilitated from this location. It has been found that cars are often rented from the business premises to persons with a criminal record, for example in the area of drug trafficking. The company also does not have its administration in order.’

Irritating

It concerns the company of car rental company Lorenzo Huizinga, writes the Dagblad van het Noorden. With his company Luxury Cars Exclusive, Huizinga rents out very expensive cars, including a Mercedes of 170,000 euros.

Huizinga responds to the newspaper about the decision to close his company. He swears that he doesn’t understand anything about it: ‘The municipality is acting a bit annoying.’

Through fence

The car entrepreneur was still involved in an incident in January. He stated that four masked men wanted to rob him, after which he fled in one of his cars – a luxurious, white Mercedes – drove through a fence and ended up against a wall. He then took off running, passed out, and ended up in the hospital.

Police confirmed at the time that it was a robbery.

In September 2022, a car caught fire at another business premises of Huizinga, on the Auwemalaan in Leek.
