Midwoud – An 84-year-old resident of Midwoud was attacked in her home on Wednesday afternoon. The same afternoon, a 35-year-old Rotterdammer was arrested with the woman’s property. Police are investigating his role.

On Wednesday around 12.55 p.m. we received a report of a home robbery on Minnewei. In the house, officers found the 84-year-old resident of the house. She said that a man followed her from the street into the residential complex and gained access to her home. The man pushed the resident to the ground and began to collect her belongings, including a colored suitcase. He then fled on foot with those items.

The police used Burgernet, among other things, where they were asked to look out for: a man with a dark complexion of about 1.75 tall with a dark coat.

A neighbor saw the man walking and alerted the police, who tracked the man down. This 35-year-old Rotterdammer was arrested at the Weder in Midwoud. He is in custody and will be questioned about his role in the home robbery. The woman suffered minor injuries, but did not require acute medical treatment.
