Man injures owner and dog with knife and is arrested


Eindhoven – An argument that got out of hand between two dog owners on Treurenburgstraat resulted in a stabbing on Thursday evening. A man and his dog were injured. The suspect, a 43-year-old Eindhove resident, was arrested at home and is in custody.

The men met while walking their dogs and an altercation quickly broke out. At some point both dogs started fighting with each other. The later victim tried to separate the dogs and the suspect also got involved in the conflict. The victim was stabbed when he wanted to protect his animal and his dog was also hit. Eventually we managed to separate both animals. A local resident had now called the police, who quickly arrived on the scene. The victim also alerted the emergency services himself. Based on the initial investigation, officers were able to determine the suspected home address of the suspect. They found him at home, where he was arrested. The knife probably used has been confiscated.

The victim, a 42-year-old man from Eindhoven, was taken to a hospital for treatment of the stab wound and reported the incident. His dog was transported to a veterinary clinic and underwent surgery. The suspect has been detained for further questioning.
